The joy was unimaginable, unexplainable, and unquenchable as our dear father founder, Leo Okonkwo, arrived at the Compassionate Home in Umuagwu in our new 18-seat mini-bus on Friday! Every missionary, widow, and orphaned child in the community beamed with ultimate praise, dance, and joyful songs! I watched as the Mother Enabler students shed tears of joy for such an unexpected uplift in their condition, and I exclaimed to myself, “Amazing grace how great you are!!”
The ministry of the Messengers of Justice (MOJ) has ignited an unquenchable fire of love and trust in God among the widows and orphans. Our new mini-bus is the proof and seal of God’s answer to their fervent prayers. The Archangel Raphael, protector of travelers, will guide us in the safe use of this vehicle, provided by God via a generous friend of HEAL. Along with HEAL president, Nick Costello, we now welcome this special friend into the MOJ mission family!
Now that our transportation problems are behind us, we MOJ missionaries are breathing sighs of relief! The 18-seat bus will enhance our apostolate inside and outside of the community. If an illness spreads among the children, we can now transfer a large group to the hospital without delay or danger. Also, excursion exercises (field trips) will enhance the children’s education as we visit areas of historical, religious, economic, and cultural significance in Nigeria.
The introduction of the new bus to the Mother Enabler students signals a positive transformation in our young, vibrant, and determined institution. The outlook of every child in the Home is awesome, as they feel blessed immensely by this great act of generosity and faith. May the good Lord continue to bestow His blessings upon HEAL, by which we carry out our self-emptying ministry to the least of Jesus’ brothers and sisters (Matt 25:40)!
This great event of generosity has fulfilled our father founder’s favorite saying, “Divine Providence will never disappoint us in our needs.” Indeed, God has provided for us through you — good people of HEAL. In return, we offer our constant prayers for your intentions!
